Bloodlines

Four lines, plus a mix

Each bloodline shapes both the sound of the name and the noble particle it tends to carry. Pick one to match your vampire, or browse Any.

Patrician

Refined, aristocratic names of old courts and estates, like Lucien von Drachenfels or Cordelia von Ravenhurst.

Carpathian

Cold mountain names of the Carpathian night, like Vladislav of Vargholm or Ileana Mortavec.

Nocturne

Decadent, romantic names of velvet and candlelight, like Celestine de Belmonte or Octavian de Lenoir.

Primeval

Alien, ancient names from the first long night, like Azhrael of the Sunless Throne or Nyssara Duskborn.

Naming tips

Making a vampire sound centuries old

Let the bloodline lead

A Patrician name carries an old title, a Carpathian one the chill of the mountains, a Nocturne one a romantic flourish, and a Primeval one a weight far older than any house.

Use register for the age

Set Register to Mortal for the name they were born with, Cursed for what they became, Noble for a titled holding, or Ancient for a deep bloodline form.

Refine, don't restart

Found a first name you love but the wrong surname? Choose it, hit Refine, lock the first name and shuffle the rest.

Vampire name generator FAQ

Yes. You can generate unlimited vampire names for free, with no sign-up. Copy or save any you like and use them however you want.
Absolutely. The names suit vampire lords, spawn, dhampir and other undead nobility in D&D 5e, Pathfinder and most fantasy RPGs. Pick a bloodline, generate, and drop your favourite onto the stat block.
Each bloodline sets the flavour and the noble particle. Patrician leans aristocratic and Germanic, Carpathian cold and Slavic, Nocturne decadent and romantic, and Primeval alien and ancient. Leave it on Any for a mix, or pick one to match your vampire.
Open Options and set Gender to Masculine or Feminine. Leaving it on Neutral gives a mix of both. First names are drawn from the matching pool for the bloodline you chose.
Register changes the kind of surname you get. Mortal gives the plain name from a mortal life, Cursed adds a dark earned name, Noble adds a titled holding such as von Drachenfels, and Ancient uses an older bloodline form. Leave it on Any for a spread.
Surnames are included by default. Turn them off in Options for first names only, or use Refine on a chosen name to swap just the surname while keeping the first name.
Yes, for stories, comics, video games, streams and other creative projects. Generated names are not trademarked here, but for a major commercial title it is sensible to do a quick search to make sure your chosen name is not already strongly associated with something else.
No. Each batch is checked against the names you have already seen this visit, so you can generate again and again without repeats. Use Previous to step back to an earlier batch.
